Description

This is a broad family of mushrooms mostly found in cooler climates. Many tricholoma mushrooms have a very similar appearance. Mycologists must tell them apart using traits like texture, how they bruise when crushed, or smell. Fortunately, many have distinctive scents, including a few described as smelling like fresh asphalt.
