Roundheads
Scientific name: Stropharia

Description

Cultivating roundheads is illegal in the state of Louisiana, but the distinctive fungi are grown in other states. The mushrooms grow by releasing spores into the air. They are recognizable by the slimy ring on the stake above the distinctly round cap. The genus received its name due to the cap’s shape.
