Description
Earth balls are fascinating fungi known for their round, thick-skinned fruiting bodies that often resemble small balls. They are typically found growing on the ground, often in sandy soils. When mature, the outer skin cracks open to release dark, powdery spores. Some species within this group form symbiotic relationships with the roots of trees, providing the plants with essential nutrients from the soil.
