Description
Paragyrodon is a rare group of fungi known for its unusual spore-bearing surface. Instead of gills or pores, it has a wrinkled or maze-like surface underneath its cap. This group forms symbiotic relationships with certain trees, particularly oaks. Its fruiting bodies are typically large and robust, with a distinctive yellowish-brown coloration. Paragyrodon is primarily found in North America and parts of Asia.
