Description

True morels are mushrooms that are commercially harvested in the wild in the Northern Hemisphere, were they grow in abundance. These fungi are difficult for growers to cultivate. Species in the genus have a unique appearance that differentiates them from other fungi; true morels have a network of pitted ridges on their caps, giving the fruitbody a honeycomb appearance.
