Description

Graphidaceae is a family of fungi that grow as lichens in a mutually beneficial relationship with bacteria or algae. You are most likely to spot these fungi growing in the tropics and unlike most lichens, they don't grow on rocks, but instead are epiphytes, meaning they grow only on plants.
