Description

Valsa is a group of fungi that often live on tree bark. They cause canker diseases in various plants, leading to sunken, dead areas on branches and stems. Many species in this group can switch between living on dead plant material and parasitizing living trees. Some valsa species produce tiny, flask-shaped structures that release spores, helping them spread to new host plants.
