Thiers' lepidella is a grassland-loving mushroom that was originally thought to be a member of the Amanita genus. Unlike Amanitas, thiers' lepidella feeds on decomposing organic material and does not form a symbiotic relationship with trees. The mushroom was named Thiers' lepidella in honour of Harry Delbert Thiers, an American mycologist.
