Description
Retiboletus are a type of fungi known for their sponge-like appearance underneath their caps, replacing traditional gills with tiny, porous tubes. Many species within this group often display vibrant colors, ranging from yellow to brown. These fungi typically form symbiotic relationships with trees, helping in nutrient exchange. Notable for their role in forest ecosystems, they often flourish in temperate and tropical regions. An identifying feature is their reticulated (net-like) stem pattern.
