Description

Porinaceae is a family of crustose lichens. They typically grow on tree bark or rocks in tropical and subtropical regions. Many species in this group have tiny, flask-shaped structures called perithecia that contain spores. Some porinaceae lichens form partnerships with specific algae, creating unique and colorful patterns on their substrate.
