Description

Porina is a group of crustose lichens commonly found on tree bark and rocks. They form thin, often smooth crusts that can be greenish, grayish, or brownish in color. Many species in this group have distinctive small, flask-shaped structures called perithecia, which contain their reproductive spores. Some porina species are used as bioindicators of air quality and forest health.
