Description

Otidea are known for their distinctive ear-like shape, which is why a common nickname for them is 'ear fungi.' They usually grow on the ground in forests, often under hardwood or conifer trees. One interesting fact about otidea is that they typically appear in the autumn season. The fruiting bodies are often brightly colored, ranging from yellow to orange-brown, making them quite striking in the forest floor.
