Nolanea are small to medium-sized mushrooms typically found in grasslands and forests. They often have conical or bell-shaped caps with a distinctive central bump. Their stems are usually thin and fragile. Many species in this group have a strong mealy or cucumber-like odor. Their spore prints are typically pink to salmon-colored, a key identifying feature.
