Description

Micarea is a group of lichen that thrive in a variety of habitats, including forest floors and rocks. They are characterized by their small, often granular thalli that can appear in colors ranging from greenish-gray to dark brown. Some species within this group are known for contributing to the ecosystem by facilitating nitrogen fixation and aiding in soil formation.
