Description

Lecanorales is a group of lichens found in many environments, from rocky soils to tree bark. Known for their crusty, leaf-like forms, they play a crucial role in ecosystems by breaking down rocks into soil and supporting various small organisms. Some lecanorales members also produce colorful pigments, which have been historically used to dye fabric.
