Leptonia are small, colorful mushrooms often found in grasslands and forests. They have a distinctive shape with a convex cap and slender stem. Many species in this group display vibrant hues of blue, purple, or green. Leptonia are known for their finely scaly or silky caps and their tendency to turn blue when bruised. Some species have a pleasant odor resembling cucumber or melon.
