Description

Rim lichens is a diverse and widespread group of crustose lichens known for their distinct circular, rim-like structures on bark or rock surfaces. These lichens typically grow on rocks, tree bark, and occasionally on soil, thriving in a variety of environments from arid regions to temperate forests. Rim lichens plays an important role in nutrient cycling and serves as an indicator of environmental conditions, such as air quality.
