Description

The laboulbeniaceae family is famed for containing some of the most unusual species of fungi to be seen anywhere. The fungi are found worldwide and are notable since they are parasitic on insects, growing and feeding on their living tissue. Each species of laboulbeniaceae specializes in colonizing a particular species or group of insects.
