Description
Dentinum are fungi known for their distinctive appearance. Instead of the spore-bearing gills common on other species, their fruitbodies have brittle, white teeth. The teeth can hang from ascending branches or grow downwards. Some species of the genus like Hydnum repandum and Hydum rufescens are edible. The genus name is derived from the Ancient Greek term for truffle. Dentinum grows on decaying wood and the ground.
