Description
Heterocephalacria is a group of tiny fungi that parasitize other fungi, particularly yeast-like species. They form minute, colorless or pale-colored fruiting bodies on their host's surface. Some species in this group can alter the appearance of their host, causing it to produce gall-like swellings. Heterocephalacria plays a unique role in fungal ecosystems as specialized parasites.
