Description
Artist's bracket and allies are a widespread and diverse genus of fungi that have large disc-shaped bodies and pores on the underside. These species will often be found growing in shelf-like formations up trees, branches, and on exposed roots. The way these fungi attach to trees can be detrimental, as they decay the wood and break it down with enzymes, making artist's bracket and allies parasitic.
