Description

Corticioid fungi are so-named because of their corticoid growth patterns. This means that they grow in patches or crusts. You can usually find the species in this family growing on deadwood since they feed on it and cause it to rot. However, some species are parasites that attack and feed on living plants, grasses, and lichens.
