Description
Connopus is a group of fungi known for its presence in woodlands, often growing on decaying wood. These fungi typically have small, brown to reddish-brown caps and slender stems. They play a crucial role in forest ecosystems by breaking down dead organic material, thus recycling nutrients back into the soil. Connopus tends to appear in clusters, and their fruiting bodies can be observed mainly during the damp, cooler months of the year.
