Description

Coccoidea is a genus of fungi that parasitize living leaves of Quercus lamellosa (a type of oak tree). These fungi are slightly immersed in the host tissue and form circular to subcircular, discoid, cushion-like structures that are black in color. Their parasitic nature affects the host plant by drawing nutrients from it, potentially impacting the plant's health.
