Balsamia
Scientific name: Balsamia
Description
Balsamia are small, underground fungi that form symbiotic relationships with tree roots. They have a potato-like appearance with a warty outer surface. Unlike many other truffles, balsamia lack a distinct internal cavity. These fungi prefer to grow in coniferous forests, particularly in association with pine trees. Their spores are dispersed when animals dig them up and consume them.
