Description

Ganoderma er en omfattende og variert slekt av sopp som har store, skiveformede kropper og porer på undersiden. Disse artene vil ofte bli funnet voksende i hylleformede formasjoner oppå trær, grener og på eksponerte røtter. Måten disse soppene fester seg til trær kan være skadelig, da de råtner trevirket og bryter det ned med enzymer, noe som gjør ganoderma parasittisk.
