Description
Xylodon are a fascinating group of fungi known for their resilient properties and ability to decompose wood. Found predominantly in forested areas, these fungi contribute significantly to nutrient recycling in their ecosystems. Some members of this group are notable for their intricate, crust-like growth forms which often resemble a thin, white coating on tree bark or fallen logs. This makes them critical players in breaking down tough organic materials, ultimately enriching the soil.
