Tolypocladium is a family of parasitic fungi that contains species that are parasitic on insects, mites, and nematodes. Since these fungi colonize and eventually kill their host, often after having effected dramatic changes in their behavior, there is optimism in the scientific community that they can be developed for use as a natural pesticide.
