Description
Wart lichens is a group of crustose lichens often found on rocks and concrete. They form dark, circular or irregular patches on surfaces. Many species in this group have a unique feature of producing spores in perithecia, which are flask-shaped structures embedded in the lichen thallus. Some wart lichens species can tolerate submersion in water for extended periods.
