Description

Sparsitubus is a rare group of wood-decaying fungi found in tropical and subtropical regions. They form distinctive shelf-like fruiting bodies with a porous lower surface. The pores are sparsely distributed, giving the group its name. Sparsitubus species play an important role in decomposing fallen trees and recycling nutrients in forest ecosystems.
