Description
Podosphaera is a fascinating group of fungi known for causing powdery mildew, a common plant disease. These fungi typically appear as a white or gray powder on leaves, stems, and flowers, making them quite distinctive. Unlike many fungi, podosphaera does not require free water to infect plants, thriving even in dry conditions. Some species within this group can severely impact agricultural crops and ornamental plants, making them significant both environmentally and economically.
