Description

Pilobolus is a small fungus known for its unique spore dispersal mechanism. It grows on herbivore dung and can launch its spore-filled capsules up to 2 meters away with explosive force. This fungus can detect light and aims its spores towards open areas to increase the chances of being eaten by animals, continuing its life cycle.
