Description
Rosette lichens are fascinating symbiotic organisms composed of a fungus and an alga or cyanobacterium. They are easily recognizable by their rosette-like growth pattern and often appear gray or greenish-gray. They typically inhabit tree bark or rock surfaces and are indicators of air quality, as they are sensitive to pollution. Some species within this group can survive extreme environmental conditions, making them remarkable examples of resilience in nature.
