Phlyctibasidium is a small genus of fungi known for its unique basidial structures. These fungi are primarily found on dead wood in tropical and subtropical regions. They form thin, inconspicuous crusts on their substrate. Their most distinctive feature is the presence of swollen, bladder-like basidia, which give the genus its name. These basidia are quite different from those found in many other fungi.
