Description

Wart lichens is a group of lichens known for their distinctive wart-like appearances on bark and rocks. Often found in both temperate and tropical regions, they can survive extreme environments, from high altitudes to coastal areas. Unique for producing a wide range of chemical compounds, they play essential roles in ecological processes like nutrient cycling. Some species within this group are indicators of air quality, helping scientists monitor pollution.
