Description

Parmastomyces is a wood-decaying fungus group found primarily on coniferous trees. It causes a distinctive brown rot in the wood it inhabits. These fungi have a resupinate fruiting body, meaning it grows flat against the surface of the wood. Their spore-producing surface is typically smooth or slightly wrinkled, and can range in color from white to cream or pale yellow.
