Description
Crabseye lichens are lichen known for their strikingly pale, crusty surfaces that appear almost white. These lichens often grow on rocks and tree bark. Some species within this group produce chemicals that help fend off herbivores and other fungi. They are also used as bioindicators to monitor environmental quality, as they are sensitive to air pollution. Their unique appearance and ecological role make them a fascinating subject for study.
