Description

Neournula is a rare group of cup fungi found in North America and Asia. They are characterized by their dark-colored, cup-shaped fruiting bodies that can reach up to 5 cm (2 in) in diameter. These fungi typically grow on decaying wood in deciduous forests. Neournula species have a unique spore dispersal mechanism, ejecting spores forcefully into the air when mature.
