Description

Laccocephalum is a group of fungi known for forming underground "stone-like" fruiting bodies. These hard structures, called sclerotia, can persist in soil for extended periods. Some species in this group are associated with eucalyptus trees in Australia. The sclerotia can grow quite large, sometimes reaching the size of a human head.
