Description

Glyphium is a unique genus that often inhabits dead wood, primarily in temperate regions. These fungi are commonly characterized by their dark, thick-walled fruiting structures that have an elongated or beak-like appearance. Unlike many other fungi, they do not produce large, noticeable fruiting bodies, making them easy to overlook. Some species within this group can play a significant role in the decomposition process, recycling nutrients back into the ecosystem.
