Description

Gelatoporia is a fascinating group of fungi known for their poroid, crust-like fruiting bodies. As white-rot fungi, they specialize in decomposing lignin, a tough organic polymer found in plant cell walls, which allows them to break down both lignin and cellulose in wood.
