Description
Exidia, often found on decaying wood, produces jelly-like fruiting bodies that can change shape depending on moisture levels. They appear translucent and can range in color from white to dark brown. Some species within exidia can seem almost brain-like in appearance. These organisms play a crucial role in breaking down dead wood, contributing to forest ecosystems by recycling nutrients back into the soil.
