Description
Entomophthora are specialized fungi that infect and kill insects. They grow inside their hosts, eventually causing the insect to climb to an elevated position before death. The fungus then produces spores from the insect's body, which are dispersed to infect new hosts. Some species can manipulate host behavior to enhance transmission.
