Description

Dumontinia is a fascinating group of fungi known for their unique lifestyle involving parasitism of plants, including buttercups. Typically emerging in early spring, these fungi develop from underground sclerotia, which are hard, resistant structures allowing them to survive harsh conditions. The fruiting bodies of dumontinia often appear as small, cup-like structures on stalks, adding an intriguing visual aspect to their biology.
