Description

Diplodia is a group of plant-associated fungi known for causing cankers and dieback in various tree species. They often appear as small black dots on infected plant tissues. Some species can survive as endophytes within healthy plants without causing symptoms. Diplodia produces spores in structures called pycnidia, which help in their dispersal. Their impact on agriculture and forestry can be significant.
