Description
Diaporthe is a group of plant-associated fungi that can be found worldwide. Many species in this group live as endophytes, residing inside plant tissues without causing harm. Some diaporthe species, however, can become plant pathogens under certain conditions, affecting crops and trees. They produce small, flask-shaped structures called perithecia, which release spores for reproduction. Diaporthe plays important roles in plant ecology and agriculture.
