A species of Cortinar, Also known as Pungent cort

The Cortinarius traganus is commonly referred to as the Lilac Webcap, because it often sports a pale purple color on its stalk and cap. The species, however, can be distinguished from other purple-hued mushrooms by its dark yellow-brown flesh, which can be seen when one cuts into the mushroom. Gassy webcaps are found in wet, temperate habitats across North America and Europe and are not considered edible.
