Description
Collemopsidium is a group of lichens often found in coastal environments. These organisms are adapted to survive in harsh conditions, including regular exposure to salt spray and occasional submersion in seawater. Some species of collemopsidium form thin, dark crusts on rocks and shells in the intertidal zone, while others can be found on coastal trees and shrubs. Their ability to thrive in these challenging habitats makes them important components of coastal ecosystems.
