Description

Brunneoporus is a group of wood-decaying fungi known for causing brown rot in trees. They typically form bracket-like fruiting bodies on dead or living wood. These fungi play a crucial role in forest ecosystems by breaking down cellulose and hemicellulose, leaving behind a brown, crumbly residue. Some species in this group can persist for many years on their host trees.
