Description
Atheliachaete is an interesting group of fungi often found growing on decaying wood in forested environments. These fungi play an important role in the ecosystem by breaking down tough plant material, recycling nutrients back into the soil. You can spot them by their unique fruiting bodies that can form thin, crust-like layers on wood surfaces. Their ability to degrade complex wood components helps maintain forest health and nutrient cycles.
